Pre-natal

Prenatal
Prenatal

A prenatal massage is a massage service performed by a certified prenatal massage therapist that is similar to a Swedish massage, except for a few modifications with body positioning that can ensure the safety and comfort for both mother and baby. You can expect your practitioner to focus on areas such as the lower back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, and feet. Massage can address swelling, pain, discomfort, tension, and adhesions. Once you're on the table, your therapist will have you lay on your side.

Massage is generally considered safe following the first trimester of pregnancy. If you're at risk for preterm labor, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes, or other possible complications, your doctor or midwife may advise against massage during pregnancy. There are lots of aches and pains that come with being pregnant.

How often should a pregnant woman get a prenatal massage?

As a general rule of thumb, antenatal massage can benefit you throughout your pregnancy with monthly appointments until around 27 weeks, then twice monthly appointments from around 27 weeks to 36 weeks, and weekly appointments from 36 weeks until you give birth.

HSA FSA LSA Accounts

  • We accept your Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) just like a regular debit card. HSA and FSA payments can only be applied to Massage Therapy depending on your HSA/FSA provider. We recommend verifying the details of your HSA/FSA account with your provider prior to your visit. Payment is due at the time of service.

Can I buy multiple treatment plans or sessions at once with my HSA/FSA?

  • A. Yes, as long as you have enough funds on your HSA/FSA card, you can use the exact amount of money you have to pay for Massage Therapy multiple treatment plans, packages, or sessions at Attentive Therapy.

What if I don't have a physical Debit Card and just an account, how do I get reimbursed?

  • A. If you don't have a physical debit card and have all of your funds within an account, you have to request a "Superbills". Superbills are used for you to submit to your federal employer and they will reimburse you with the money you paid at Attentive Therapy.  Before that, you would need to pay for your services at Attentive Therapy with your money, but later get reimbursed from your HSA/FSA accounts.
